Dear All,
It is with huge sadness that I write this post. Our beloved Richard died last week after a lengthy and difficult illness.
Some of you may know that after a very successful career in aviation running both Luton and City Airports, Richard retired and we moved to Suffolk (where Richard had been born) to set up a holiday cottage business.
Our vision was to create a place of relaxation and retreat for our guests and their dogs. It was particularly important to Richard that it was a place of few rules - where dogs could run free allowing their owners a worry free stay; a place that made the most of the beautiful countryside around us and one our guests would return to again and again (like old friends). I think judging by the past few years' of awards and wonderful comments from you, we did it. Richard and I created something together that we were so very proud of.
And so life at Letheringham Mill goes on. We all feel terribly sad and we may seem quieter than usual (although I can’t vouch for Amber) but rest assured in Richard's name we'll continue to give you the best weekend or time away any dog friendly holiday cottage could offer.
So, please this summer when relaxing on the decking or wandering through our gardens, think of Richard and perhaps that evening raise a toast to him.
To this end and to build on Richard’s vision of the Suffolk countryside we have decided to design a new garden here in his memory. Click here to find out more.
With love
Jacqui ❤️🐾
